How to perform a Restore of a Certero On-Premises platform
It may be necessary to restore the Certero platform to a previous state. Restores can be performed from previously created Certero Backups.
Scenario: A Certero user has accidentally deleted a dashboard or important report from within Certero. The dashboard/report had specific columns and complex filters defined and these would be time consuming to re-create. Rather than waste time attempting to recreate the dashboard or report, it has been decided to restore the Certero platform back to a point in time before the report was deleted.
SaaS Hosted customer Restores are managed by Certero.
Instructions
Login to the relevant Certero Provisioning website ( https://<servername>:9000 )
Select the Backups option from the top menu bar. View the date/timestamps of the backups to ensure that a desired backup exists.
Before performing the restore you may want to perform a backup of the Certero system in the current state. This could be used in case the restore does not give you the desired results and you need to perform a rollback.
Select the Tenants option from the top menu bar. Select the Actions option

For the desired Tenant. The following menu will appear:

Select Backup from the menu to perform a new backup of the Certero system. Wait for the task to complete.
Select Restore from the menu to restore the Certero system to an earlier point in time. Select the required backup to restore from the list of backups shown.

Click Submit to start the restore process. Wait for the task list to complete.

Once the Restore is complete the Certero platform will be accessible once again. The data you will see will reflect the time the backup was taken. BUT remember connectors, network discovery, computer inventory processes will start running again so the data will begin to be replaced with current data.
