Question
In CPS > Backups you can see the list of tenant backups. Backups that have been created during policy backup cycles will have a clock symbol and the policy name will be in the Description column of the Backups grid.
You’ll also note that there is no trashcan icon for those backups with which you could delete them. The backup policy will normally age out old policy-based backups according to the policy retention configuration.
Sometimes there is a need to manually remove these policy-based backups. How can we do this if there is no trashcan icon?
Answer
Click and confirm the Tag icon at the right of the backup record to Preserve the backup. This will de-link the backup from the policy, as confirmed by looking at the Description field, which will no longer contain the clock symbol. Because the backup is no longer policy-based, the trashcan icon will now be available for you to delete the backup.
