Manual Installation of Certero Inventory Client for macOS | v8.8+

The Certero client agent for MacOS is modular, so the minimum installation is deployed. When the client checks into the server for the first time it will download the relevant dynamic libraries to enable the modules.

To download the macOS client agent; within the Certero platform go to User > Downloads and download the “Client Agent Setup for macOS”

  • Run the CerteroAgent.pkg file on the required device once downloaded.

  • Click “Continue” when the installer launches.

  • Click “Install” (You may be prompted to provide credentials to run the install)

You will then be prompted to enter Endpoint Server and Tenant ID information to configure the agent.

Server: Full FQDN of the endpoint server that the device can communicate with
Port: The port of the Endpoint Server website. (80 = http, 443 = https)
Use SSL: Tick if using https.
Ignore Invalid Certificates: Tick if you want to enable this and using https
Tenant ID: Tenant ID of your system

(You may be prompted to provide credentials to run the config tool )

The install process will then complete.

Restart the device if you would like to evoke the inventory collection immediately . The agent will communicate over the next 24 hours if the machine is not rebooted.
