Windows SSL/TLS Configuration Inventory | v8.4+

SSL/TLS configuration information for Windows computers is available from Certero version 8.4.459.38331+. This article explains the derivation of that inventory.

The inventory provides an overview of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) configuration of your Windows computers. The inventory comes from the Windows Registry entries for the SChannel Security Support Provider (SSP), found here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols

As per the following image (showing Registry and Certero inventory):

  • Yes

    • Indicates the Registry entry exists (for Enabled or Disabled by Default ) and is set to 1

  • No

    • Indicates the Registry entry exists and is set to 0

  • Not Set

    • Indicates there is no Registry entry for the item
