Summary

Unique Name

This is the unique Database name.

Edition

This is the edition of Database which has been detected. It will reflect either ‘Enterprise’ or ‘Standard’.

Version

This is the current version of the Database. Certero automatically restricts at 1 decimal place.

Platform

This reflects the Operating Systems software that is installed on the host.

Clustered

Yes / No – reflects whether the host is a member of a cluster. Caution, where it’s a member of a single node cluster then this will still reflect Yes.

Instances

Reflects how may instances there are within Certero.

Excluded

Yes / No – Where excluded then the data will not be included in the compliance reporting, or in the OSW documentation / GLAS extracts. You can amend the value by using the mouse right click on the database / Actions / Set Status and Comments.

Licensable Options

This reflects how many potentially chargeable Options & Packs have been detected.

Multitenant

The multitenant architecture enables an Oracle database to function as a multitenant container database (CDB) that includes zero, one, or many customer-created pluggable databases (PDBs). A PDB is a portable collection of schemas, schema objects, and no schema objects that appears to an Oracle Net client as a non-CDB.

DBID

The DBID is an internal, uniquely generated number that differentiates databases. Oracle creates this number automatically as soon as you create the database.

Container DBID

An Oracle container DBID is a unique identifier for a container database (CDB). A CDB is a collection of databases that share common features.

Named Users

This is the amount of named users which have been defined against the database. The defined quantities can be using the ‘Named User Criteria’ within the database properties. You can use the Query Builder or Group Membership to define the quantity.

Comment

This is a free text cell. You can add comments using the mouse right click on the database / Actions / Set Status and Comments.

Database Info

Unique ID

This is the unique Database name.

Name

This is the name by which the database is known.

Database Role

Primary / Secondary: The primary role is the role of the database that is currently active, while the secondary role is the role of the database that is currently in standby.

Open Mode

Determines whether it is available for general use, or if it is restricted to database administrators.

Log Mode

Oracle database log mode is a setting that controls how Oracle saves and manages log files. The two main log modes are ARCHIVELOG mode and NOARCHIVELOG mode.

Control File Type

Type of control file:

STANDBY - Indicates that the database is in standby mode

CLONE - Indicates a clone database

BACKUP | CREATED - Indicates the database is being recovered using a backup or created control file

CURRENT - database is available for general use

Switchover Status

The Oracle database switchover status indicates the role of a database, whether a switchover is allowed, and the status of a switchover request.

Environment

This is a cosmetic definition where the customer can define the environment type from a drop-down list. It helps when attributing hosts to license types etc.

Created

This defines the date when the database was initially created.

Connection

Unique Name

This is the unique Database name.

Connection String

This gives important information with regards to how Certero will connect with the database.

First Inventory

This is the Date / Time stamp for the initial successful inventory of the database. Generally, this indicates the start date for where license entitlement should have been procured

Last Inventory

This is the Date / Time stamp for the last successful inventory of the database. Where the date is older than the period between the connectors running (e.g Weekly / monthly) then this might indicate a problem with the connector, or that the connector has been archived. Where the connector has been archived then there is a manual requirement to archive the database within Oracle Technology / Databases. Until archived / excluded then the database will consume license entitlement.
