Creating processor types for Oracle hosts | v5.3 and above

AssetStudio will automatically identify processor types associated with Oracle Database licensing from the Oracle hosts where the databases are installed. On occasions, you may need to add your own processor type.

There are a few exceptions where you may need to add a processor type within AssetStudio for Oracle and this article describes how you would do this.

Processor types are automatically identified as AssetStudio for Oracle performs its database inventory and ascertains the licensable Oracle hosts (refer to this article to learn more about Oracle hosts).

On occasions, there may be a need to create a processor type, for example, if you need to create an Oracle host (refer to this article to learn more about when to create an Oracle host).

Processor Types Data Grid

Go to Oracle Inventory > Processor Types to view the current list of identified processor types in use across your Oracle estate. You will see a data grid similar to the example below.

Each row represents a processor found on a computer in scope of an Oracle Database license. If you need to add a new processor type, simply click the New button. The Processor - Add New dialogue appears where you can enter the model, Oracle core factor and speed of the processor you are adding. After clicking Save, the processor type will be available to associate with an Oracle host .
