Oracle global settings explained | v8+
Within your Certero platforms Global Settings, there are a few that relate to Oracle that are outlined below.

Oracle Database Inventory
In some cases, you may wish to create the same Oracle "service" user account on all your database instances in the same way and with the same username and password. If you do, you can simply specify the credentials here and they will automatically be used for all Oracle database instances, unless you override this for a specific database.
Using default credentials in this way can simplify the process of creating user accounts (if they do not already exist) and the time to inventory all your database instances.
Unlimited License Agreement
If you have one of these types of agreement with Oracle, often referred to as a ULA, it can contain licenses for products that are "uncapped", i.e., no quantity is specified as you can have unlimited deployments of the product as outlined within your ULA.
License entitlement for uncapped Oracle products are represented on the compliance screens ( Oracle Licensing > Compliance ) by the Uncapped Quantity specified here. The default is 999999 although you could enter another number if you like. The number representing the uncapped quantity will be shown in the Required column of the compliance data grid.
Licensing: Cover-down (Enterprise Edition)
Normally, Oracle database editions are licenses separately and a "higher" edition would not cover the license of the "lower" edition. For example, Oracle Database Enterprise Edition could not be used to license Oracle Database Standard Edition 2. However, some customers may negotiate with Oracle and secure a concession allowing what can be referred to as "cover-down". This policy is where a higher edition of Oracle can cover the license of a lower edition.
If you have such a concession, you can select one of the following options:
Standard edition Only : the cover-down policy will only be applied to Oracle Database Standard Edition. Other lower editions of Oracle will need to have appropriate license entitlement.
All editions (Standard, SE1, SE2) : the cover-down policy will be applied to the following editions of Oracle Database: Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, Standard Edition 2.
The default option of Do not license other editions will ensure that each edition of Oracle Database will require its own appropriate license entitlement.
