Creating a Nutanix Connector | v8.8+

In order to create a Nutanix Virtualization connector within in Certero, there are a number of details you will need to enter. These are:

  • Server IP address or domain

  • Port number

  • Username and password of an account with at minimum the Viewer role

Ensure that the Nutanix Connector feature is enabled for the Endpoint Server being used for your Nutanix Connector(s).

In Certero > Administration > Endpoint Servers , right click on the Endpoint Server that will run the Nutanix connector and choose Properties. Click on the Features button.

Ensure that the Nutanix Connector is ticked:

Click Save .

Connector Setup

In Certero; navigate to Connectors > Nutanix . Click the New button.

On the Details tab; Enter the server name/IP, port number (default is 9440), select an Endpoint Server that will be able to connect to your Nutanix system over the port specified and enter the username and password that can authenticate with Nutanix on this server:

On the Schedule tab; set how often you want the Nutanix connector to run. The recommendation is daily, out of hours, when no server maintenance will be scheduled:

Click Save .

To confirm operability; right click the Nutanix Connector you have created, select Actions > Run Now

Once run, you can check the Results tab to see if it has completed successfully.

You will be able to see the populated Nutanix Data within Virtualization > Nutanix Hosts and Virtualization > Nutanix Virtual Machines

Note that to see operating system information of the virtual machines within Virtualization > Nutanix Virtual Machines Guest Tools must be deployed to the virtual machines in Nutanix.
