Add a custom/bespoke application for tracking
The Unrecognized Software subsection of the Certero Management Platform (CMP) allows you to recognize and set a License Category for internally developed or bespoke applications specific to your organization
Setting a License Category allows you to track applications that are not commercially released and part of the Certero Software Recognition Database – (SRDB) categorization process. This also allows you to create or set a Publisher , the Category name, and Version information.
Any commercially released software that is not recognized should be submitted to Certero as part of the standard Software Recognition Request process.

Within the CMP:
To set a License Category for a Windows application that is unrecognized, please:
Navigate to Licensing > Unrecognized Software (Windows)
Search for the identified application in the Data Grid by using the Title and/or Publisher
Highlight the identified Unrecognized Software (Windows) row(s)
Right-click > Actions > Set License Category
Follow the on-screen instructions to set the Publisher , Category , and Version for the previously selected row(s) and then click save – Note that per the pop-up confirmation:
The Category will be created as Per Device and will also default to being Managed (licensable) - this can be edited manually after saving
Navigate to Licensing > Categories
Search by using the new Name and then right-click and select Properties
This menu will allow you to set and/or modify the Name , Assignment Type , and the Managed value of the Category
Assignment Type is the license metric to be used – ( AHUB , Core , Device , None , Processor , or User )
Managed is used to track the Category under the Licensing > Compliance view and if you can create a Transaction against it – if the application is freeware or does not require a license you will want to set Managed to No so it is not tracked in the Compliance view
