The Applications view is located under the Manage section of the navigation pane. Applications are defined as individual sites or groups of websites that together represent the potential use of a SaaS application.

Note: New applications must be created by Certero. To request a new application definition, contact Certero Support at help.certero.com

The Applications view provides both high-level and detailed insights into your SaaS estate:

  • App Counts by Status – A summary showing how many applications fall into each status category.

  • Data Grid – A sortable and filterable table of applications, with options to export results in CSV or JSON format.

  • Usage Statistics – For overall usage trends, refer to the Usage Summary dashboard.

Application status can be updated directly from this view by selecting the Status field, or by opening the Application Detail view and choosing the appropriate status from the top-right corner.

  • Blocked – Applications explicitly prohibited for use.

  • Discovered – Applications detected but not yet reviewed or categorized.

  • In Review – Applications currently under assessment for risk, ownership, or business need.

  • Managed – Approved applications with assigned ownership and controls in place.

Application Detail View

By double clicking the application a detailed view is provided. This provides deeper insight into each application, organized into three tabs:

  • Overview – Displays the application description, publisher, and associated websites. Status and Category can be updated here, and contact details may be shown if linked from a connected data source. An application review can also be added via the dialog option.
