AI MCP Integration

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants and tools connect to one another and share capabilities. CerteroX Cloud Management uses MCP in two directions: you can let other AI tools query your CerteroX data, and you can connect the Chat Assistant to other MCP servers to give it extra tools. An administrator sets both up on this page.

Letting other tools query your data

You can expose a Space's data and reporting to external AI tools, including AI assistants in your other Certero solutions, by enabling MCP integration for that Space. Once enabled, an authorized external tool can ask questions against that Space's CerteroX data through MCP, in the same way the built-in Chat Assistant does.

You enable this for each Space individually, so you stay in control of which data is reachable.

Connecting external MCP servers

You can also extend the Chat Assistant with tools from other MCP servers. Under Connected MCP Servers, select Add server and enter the connection details for the server you want to add. Once connected, that server's tools become available to the Chat Assistant alongside the built-in ones.

The most valuable use of this is connecting your other Certero products. Each product can offer its own MCP server, so connecting them lets you ask cross-product questions in a single Chat Assistant conversation, drawing answers from more than one solution at once.
