How to deploy additional Endpoint Servers

To inventory devices across all areas of your corporate network it may be necessary to implement additional Certero Endpoint Servers.  This is useful where you have offices spread across multiple locations or complex network configurations

Recommended specification for Certero Endpoint Server

Server Component

Typical Minimum Specification

Operating System:

Windows Server 2016 or later

Processors:

Dual CPU (4 x vCPU’s for virtual servers)

Memory:

8 GB RAM

Disk Capacity:

  • Two partitions or disks:

    • 1 x Standard Windows Operating System Partition

    • 1 x 20 GB Data Partition where the application will be installed

The following steps should be taken when implementing an additional Certero Endpoint Server, the Windows roles and features required will be enabled automatically during installation.

  1. Login to Customer Centre and download the latest Certero Endpoint Server build

  2. Copy the files to new Endpoint Server and begin installation

  3. Select ‘Install/Re-install AssetStudio Endpoint Server’ and click next

  4. Enter registration information and click next

  5. Choose an installation path and click next (secondary 20GB partition recommended)

  6. Select ‘Full Installation’ and click next

  7. Wait for the installation to complete successfully

  8. To configure the Endpoint Server, use the Configuration PowerShell script.

  9. Once configured successfully, in the Certero Platform under Administration > Endpoint Servers > Right Click the new Endpoint Server and select Authorize.

  10. Then Right Click the new Endpoint Server and select Properties. Choose Features and then Enable the relevant Features (e.g. Default Client Components) that you require this new Endpoint Server to perform.
