When identifying optimization opportunities, Certero provides a visual representation of what usage against a file looks like over a 90-day period to help organizations quickly identify remediation areas when it comes to authorized/unauthorized software deployments.

Viewing the usage histography is available via several methods in your Certero platform, which method you use is dependent on your organizations business requirement and how you wish to optimize this position. Certero customers can ingest usage data in several ways:

Computer usage for Files:

  • Used when organizations are looking to understand from a device level what files have usage recorded

  • Path: Apps Monitor > Computers > [Files Used] > Files

File Usage:

  • Used when reviewing individual executable files to determine total usage across your organization

  • Path: Apps Monitor > Files > [Your executable] > Utilization for Computers or Users

User usage for Files:

  • Used when organizations are looking to understand from a user level what files have usage recorded

  • Path: Apps Monitor > Users > [Username] > Files

Legend:

  • White: Install detected but file not launched on the target device/user profile for that calendar day

  • Red: File discovered on the target device/user with no usage recorded for that calendar day

  • Green: File discovered on the target device/user with usage recorded for that calendar day
