Getting Started with FOCUS Reporting

CerteroX FOCUS Reporting is a purpose-built multi-cloud & multi-currency reporting tool for FinOps Practitioners and FOCUS Analysts, providing clear visibility and powerful, guided exploration to extract maximum value from FOCUS cost data from public cloud providers.

The reporting is divided into these sections:

Dashboard

  • Summary tiles, callouts, & key trends

  • Drill-thru to main reporting screens

Allocation

  • End of month cost allocation

  • Choice of all key FOCUS groupings

  • Custom groupings using virtual tags

  • Custom tax and markup percentages

Accounts

  • Monthly invoice reconciliation and breakdown

  • Delta callouts and root cause analysis

Explorer

  • Powerful cost data interrogation and exploration

  • Charting and tabulation

Commitments

  • Understand commitment discount purchasing utilization and wastage

  • Explore achieved savings and effective savings rates

  • Survey resource discount coverage to support commitments optimisation

Tagging

  • Understand and explore virtual tagging

  • Facilitate enhancement of virtual tagging coverage

  • Support remediation of cloud tag coverage and hygiene

Scheduling

  • Explore VM billing hours to identify & improve non-production power scheduling

Export

  • Export raw FOCUS data to support external reporting requirements.

 

Reporting tips:

  • The user interface is generously populated with help and tips. Looks for the question mark icons. These will explain most of what you need to know.

  • Data tables can be exported. Mouse-over a table and look for the ellipsis menu (…) at the top-right corner of the table.

  • Many visual elements are interactive, whereby you can click on a bar chart segment or table row to filter other elements on the page.
