Resources

The Resources screen provides detailed reporting and cost exploration. Drill-throughs from resources links on many other screens will load this screen, prefiltered by the context from which you navigated, e.g. filtered by date, service, etc.
There is a familiar date range control at the top-right and these tiles at the top show totals for the resources in scope of the screen’s filtering:

The Possible monthly savings tile (above) includes a link to the Optimization Insights screen.
A range of dropdowns provide filtering on common categorizations:

The Breakdown type control allows you switch the chart and table between three views:

The OpEx view displays a bar chart with options for choosing the categorization (color-coding) of the bars of the chart and the time aggregation (for each bar) from daily, weekly or monthly:

Under the chart, the table for this view has ungrouped rows for each resource, but the grouping can be changed:

This view also has an option for exporting the table.
The Resources view allows you to categorize an area chart AND table by service, region, etc.:

The Tags view displays an area chart with a table grouped by resource tag keys. The Actions icon for the table rows allow you to filter and un-filter the chart on the tag key for the row:

Mousing over a chart datapoint on the Resources screen will show a datapoint details tooltip, for example:

The Actions menu at the top-right allows you to save, manage and recall Perspectives. Perspectives are a named combination of filters, breakdown type and categorization that you can save for later use; quickly applying a desired set of report conditions. Cluster types are explained in another section.

In the table for the OpEx breakdown type (where each row is a resource) some columns contain navigation links. Clicking on a resource name or OpEx column cost (following image) will take you to the Resource Details screen for the single resource.

The Resource Details screen has a range of pages:

The Details page shows resource details and meta-data.
The Constraints page allows you to manage resource-level constraints and view constraints violation history. Constraints are explained in another section.
The OpEx page displays costs broken down by cost subcategories, giving visibility of the different sources of costs attributed to the resource, for example for compute, licensing or network traffic. The OpEx page also reveals granular cost data.
The Optimization Insights page shows Optimization Insights recommendations that the resource is currently in scope of, and those from which the resource has been dismissed (excluded). Using the eye icons, the resource can be excluded from, or re-included in, the displayed recommendation types.
For some resource types (e.g. instances), the Monitoring page shows usage metrics charts which are useful for validating usage-related optimisations:
