Cost Pools

Pools are the means by which you allocate costs to reflect cost reporting requirements, and are configured as per Cost Allocation. In this section, we explain the reporting elements of the Cost Pools screen.
The date range for data on this screen is always the current month to date.
Looking initially at the pool list:
Pools will have a red marker on the left if the month to date spend (Current Spend) has exceeded the pool’s limit.
Pools will have an orange marker on the left if the end of month Forecast has exceeded the pool’s limit.
When the hierarchy for a parent pool is collapsed (not shown below), the parent will display the most impactful marker for the pool and its sub-pools, with red being of higher impact.

There is a series of tiles at the top:

Spent over limit: The sum of the differences between current spend and limit, for pools with red markers.
Exceeded limit: The number of pools with a red marker, excluding collapsed parent pools showing a marker for sub-pools, as described above.
Space limit: The limit set on the top-level Space pool.
Current Spend: The month to date spend for the top-level organization pool.
Forecast: The end of month forecast for the top-level organization pool.
Possible monthly savings: The sum of the possible savings across all of the tiles on the Optimization Insights screen. The link on this tile switches to the Resources cost reporting screen, with a filter applied to only show resources in scope of Optimization Insights tiles.
The Actions column displays a range of control icons:

In order, the actions are:
Add a sub-pool, for users with sufficient permissions.
Switch to the Resources cost reporting screen, pre-filtered on the selected pool.
Switch to the Cost Explorer screen, pre-filtered on the selected pool.
Delete the sub-pool, for users with sufficient permissions.
