Provides extensible data sources to enable synchronization of any Certero data into ServiceNow. --- ## How It Works The Certero app connects to your Certero Unified Platform via its OData API and pulls asset inventory data into ServiceNow. The data flows through the following stages: 1. **Connect**: The app authenticates with your Certero platform using API credentials you configure in ServiceNow. 2. **Retrieve**: Asset data is retrieved from Certero in paginated batches (up to 5,000 records per request). 3. **Stage**: Data is loaded into staging tables within the Certero app's scope. 4. **Transform**: Staged data is processed through ServiceNow's Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) to create or update Configuration Items (CIs) in the CMDB. All CIs created by the app are tagged with the discovery source **"Certero"**, making it easy to identify and report on Certero-synced assets. --- ## App Navigation Once installed, the Certero app provides the following menu items in your ServiceNow navigator: | Menu Item | Purpose | | --- | --- | | **Settings** | Configure API credentials and sync options. | | **Data Sources** | View and manage which entity types are synchronized. | | **History** | View sync execution logs and trigger manual syncs. | | **About** | Support information and data privacy policy. | --- ## Supported Asset Types The app synchronizes the following asset types across all supported platforms: | Entity Type | Windows | macOS | Linux | Network | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Computers / Devices | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Disk Drives | Yes | Yes | Yes | N/A | | Disk Volumes | Yes | Yes | Yes | N/A | | Memory Modules | Yes | Yes | Yes | N/A | | Network Adapters | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Software Products | Yes | Yes | Yes | N/A | | Software Installations | Yes | Yes | Yes | N/A | This provides coverage of **23 entity types** across 4 platforms, with **140+ individual field mappings**. --- ## Target CMDB Classes | Asset Type | ServiceNow CI Class | | --- | --- | | Computers / Devices | `cmdb_ci_computer` | | Disk Drives | `cmdb_ci_disk_drive` | | Memory Modules | `cmdb_ci_memory_module` | | Network Adapters | `cmdb_ci_network_adapter` | | Software Products | `cmdb_ci_software` | | Software Installations | `cmdb_ci_software_instance` | | Disk Volumes | `cmdb_ci_disk_volume` | | Network Devices | `cmdb_ci_netgear` | --- ## Key Data Fields The app synchronises a comprehensive set of fields for each asset type. For example, a Windows computer includes: | Category | Example Fields | | --- | --- | | **System** | Name, domain, IP address, manufacturer, model, virtual | | **Processor** | Clock speed, cores per CPU, logical CPUs, physical CPUs | | **BIOS** | Serial number, UUID, manufacturer | | **Operating System** | Name, version, edition | | **Memory** | Total memory | | **Active Directory** | Canonical name, domain DNS, forest DNS, last logon, site name | | **TPM** | Activation status, enabled status, spec version | --- ## What's Next? - **[Setup Guide](https://docs.certero.com/space/CUP/217284639/ServiceNow+Integration+App+Setup+Guide)**: Step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the app. - **[Troubleshooting](https://helpdesk.certero.com/space/KCS/217513993/ServiceNow+Integration+App+Troubleshooting)**: Solutions for common issues. - **[FAQ's](https://helpdesk.certero.com/space/KCS/217579553/ServiceNow+Integration+App+FAQ's)****: **Frequently asked questions. ---
