A note from our Chief Architect / CTO...

From a technical perspective, we support both agent and agentless inventory of any computer running Windows 2000 and above. The data returned is no different to that produced from more up-to-date operating systems. One point to note however is that any Windows 2000 systems need to be fully patched to service pack 4 with update rollup 1.

We also support agent and agentless inventory of Apple Mac systems running OSX 10.4 and above however we only support agentless technology on the Linux/Unix platforms. The minimum requirements for Linux is a 2.6 kernel.

On Unix, IBM AIX is supported from as early as version 4.3, Oracle Solaris is supported from version 10 and HP-UX is supported from version 7.

Editors note...

Whilst inventory may work with some of these older OS's, we do not officially support inventory of systems that old - it just so happens inventory still works.
